Need help? The answers below cover the common questions.

Getting started

  1. Open the app, the full subway map loads right away.

  3. Tap any station to see real-time train arrivals.
  4. (Optional) Allow location to see where you are and your nearest stations.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see any arrival times?

Live arrivals come from the MTA's real-time feeds and need an internet connection. If times don't load, check your connection and try again — the feeds occasionally have brief outages on the MTA's side. The map itself works offline.

The location dot isn't showing.

Location is optional. To enable it, tap "Show My Location" in the app, or go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → NYC Underground and allow "While Using the App". Your location stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

The dot is slightly off from my real position.

The subway map is a schematic: distances and angles are stylized for readability, not geographically exact. The app maps your GPS position onto the schematic as closely as possible, so the dot is approximate near dense areas.

How current are the arrival times?

Arrivals refresh automatically about every 30 seconds while the app is open, straight from the MTA's official real-time data.

Which stations are included?

All 445 NYC subway stations across every line and borough, with proper station complexes and direction labels from official MTA data.

Does the app collect my data?

No. It has no accounts, analytics, or trackers, and your location never leaves your device. See the Privacy Policy.
