NYC Underground ("the app") shows the New York City subway map with real-time train arrivals. Your privacy is built in: the app does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.
None. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no user accounts. We never see or receive any data from your use of the app.
If you choose to allow location access, the app uses your GPS position only on your device to show a dot on the subway map and to find the stations nearest you. Your location is never transmitted: not to us, not to the MTA, not to anyone. Location is entirely optional; the app works fully without it.
To show live arrival times, the app fetches the MTA's public real-time data feeds. These requests contain no personal information and no location — they only retrieve train arrival times. The app makes no other network connections and contacts no servers operated by us.
The app does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
